I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in my early 30s and underwent hip preservation surgeries in 2015 and 2016. I became involved with the IHDI when the organization assisted me in developing my Miles4Hips initiative to run my first 100 mile race in an effort to raise hip dysplasia awareness and support for the IHDI. As a patient, medical provider, researcher, and hip dysplasia advocate, I feel strongly in participatory medicine and believe that patient care and outcomes can be optimized when patients, healthcare providers, researchers, and supporting agencies collaborate to achieve a common vision. I truly believe that the IHDI has the potential to change the outcomes of infants, children, and adults with hip dysplasia ,and am honored to support the vision of this incredible organization and all of their efforts to make it a reality.
